Chapter 1
He was blowing out his candles on his ninth birthday cake. It was a Triple Decker sundae cake, his favorite. He was about to cut the cake, when out of nowhere came a cloud of darkness and lashed out. He turned to sees whatever was in its path turned to colorful dust. Then everybody in the room turned to air and left him for it. Then he looked down at his hand and saw he was holding a sword and the cake ,the party and the house was gone. He was in a desert of some sort. He didn’t know why, but he was charging into the thing. There waiting for him, he saw the faces of the things he feared the most. A female voice quietly whispered “carabaros”. David shook and woke up with a start. David sat straight up and didn’t move a muscle. Outside the sun shined , but even that didn’t help David calm himself. His teeth chattered and he shook terribly.
He was the bravest around until someone mentioned the word “ carabaro”. Nobody mentioned them that much, only on the news, even on the news they didn’t say it, Not ever. Carabaros where everything and almost everyone bad. They were especially good killers, only formed 15 years to date, there were thousands of them ; one- fourths of the entire population . It was known they all worked for one person , who choose not to show its face.
David wondered if he should tell his dream to his mother, she was “Regional Predictor” a person who could tell what would happen next, just from a dream. David dropped that idea, he didn’t want to see so far in his future that he’d ruin it. David got out of his bed feet first. David went to the washing room , he remembered he had a birthday coming up in 3 days. Minutes later he came out in a red shirt and jeans, his dream today made him uneasy about his birthday.
Then like every year before David pranced around the house telling his mother and father the good news in case they had forgotten. He did about the same dance every year adding something new each time he did it. David didn’t actually feel like singing it , his dream disturbed him. Regardless, David would not let a dream ruin his happiness. “A couple of friends, a lot of family and only one cake is prize for this Birthday party’’, David sung barely noticeable. “A couple of friends, a lot of family and only one cake is prize for this Birthday party’’. David stopped singing, his mother was in front of the Holographic TV. “ Hello Mother guess what…”David started.
“Your birthday is coming up in 3 days , I remember , I’m your mother.. I’ll never forget”, Mrs. Gonzalez announced turning to David. David stopped to watch the Holo. with his mother.
“ It appears that many people are going missing, especially some of the people at Maxwell’s Convention, This morning … 15 even sl…..”. It was then that David’s mother told him to go outside, but as he went out the doors he thought he heard the word “carabaro’’. Maybe it was warning him of something, but he didn’t know what. David opened the door and did a flip.
“ It’s the best time of the year!” , David shouted and ran across his yard and did a triple flip. Then he continued on with different types of flips. Like double back flips, triple flips, and even pento-back flips before going over to his best friend’s house. He usually expected her to be up by now. She usually woke up two hours before him. He checked his watch, it was 8:30, so she would have already been out here at 6:30.
Oddly she nor her 8 cousins( whom which she played with )couldn’t be found. Something wasn’t right , but David wasn’t going to acknowledge it, not just yet, he had to find out what happened to Monica and her 8 cousins.
David walked across the street briskly, and knocked on the door. He heard screaming, shouting and things crashing to the floor. The Santino’s weren’t bad people as far as David knew. They always invited him to their movie nights, and he never saw them do a bad thing once, except Mr. Santino gambled. Besides that they were good and nice peoples, they were once in the circus and his mother was friends to Mrs. Santino. David wondered if he should back off , but what if he never saw the Santinos again and it would be his fault if he never went in and he would regret it.
So David opened the door (and was surprised it wasn’t locked, since there were rumors of carabaros). David opened the door and heard somebody get shot. Guns ,thought David. When David closed the door behind him and looked up, he froze. They were things from David’s dream, they wore armor that represented animals, carabaros , David’s worst fear. David wanted to crawl into a corner and shake ,but that would not help his situation.
The first one was tall with a weird mask with chime - like things hanging off of the right side of his mask. He also had a purple/ black gun in his hand. The other one was short and chubby with a hamster like mask. Across from them where The Santinos, well Mr. Santino and Mrs. Santino. Mr. Santino was colorless and had a shot wound in his right leg and arm and the wounds where bleeding like rivers! His wife was beside him comforting him. David’s fright and blank expression turned into anger and a frown. The room was a mess, plates and knives were on the floor , the TV and tables were broken and tipped over. The carabaros looked at him ,froze in the act.
Just then breaking the silence , Mr. Santino raised his head and shouted, “ David, get out of here!”
Then angrily, the tall carabaro shot a bullet at The Santinos. David was a fast thinker and threw a plate lying around next to him, directly at the center of the bullet. David closed his eyes and huddled by the door. The plate broke and shattered and pieces flew across the room. When David opened his eyes again, he saw his plan had worked. There was a hole in the wall , but the Carabaros where running up the stairs. Monica, thought David, but why are they heading for Monica? That was unclear to David. David had a plan, since the chubby carabaro was following right behind, he could kick him over and he would fall onto the tall one. It was only this morning, David was afraid of carabaros, but now he found them non- frightening. That same fright was replaced by anger and disrespect. So David did a double flip and kicked the second carabaro onto his partner. David flipped over them and ran up the stairs to Monica’s room. He had to save her. Almost to Monica’s room something zoomed by his head , a bullet! David was only a platform away from Monica’s room, when a bullet hit the doorknob, and it exploded. David closed his eyes and fell to the floor. David quickly got back up and saw that there was no doorknob, what had he gotten himself into!
Then David had a brilliant idea, another bullet flew by David's head and into the door. David ran and bounced into the door with his shoulder. Surpisingly, David flew through the door. David quickly got up from under the piece of the door and saw carbaros comming up the stairs toward the door. So he picked up the piece of the doorand flung it at the tall carabaro's head and he toppled down the stairs crushing the other Carabaro.
Monica was hiding beside her bed. "David?!What are you doing here?" she asked.
" well, I was comming over to play", David said," but there where carabaros here and I came to save you".
" David, you shoudn't have gotten yourself into trouble",she said, Moving her red curly hair aside.
" David,Watch out!"Monica's pupil's enlarged with horror. David turned around , but it was too late. David's heart skipped a beat. Purple goop was crawling up David's legs and soon David was incased in purple goop. He was now a victim of Purple neats. David panicked, no one could get out of purple nets without a knife or something sharp. Purple nets were billions of nano- organisms that reproduced rapidly and covered everything they were on.
David heard the tall crabaro say" we got what we need ,now lets go". Then the short one said," come on little girl", his voice was soft and squeaky," or we'll but a plug in your friend in the goo".His voice turned hard.
What did they want with his best friend Monica? Monica was just a normal girl as far as David Knew. David couldn't believe his life depended on Monica. " Okay"Monica sniffuled<" i'll come".
" good" shouted one carabaro.
"noooooooooooooo" shouted David and the goo wriggled around him, like it was trying to get away from him.
David could make out the faint discripition of a sharp wood splinter. what if the sounds caused the Nano- Organisms to die! David heard mMonica say a dreary goodbye.
" down the stairs!" said the Tall carabaro as he passed David.
" here's a little something for your troubles",squeaked the small Carabaro as he placed something on the ground beside David. David heard all them leave and he heard a beeping among Monica's weaping, a bomb! David acted quickand leened over to one side and screamed. The side of the structure felt lose, it had worked! One more time and David would be free. David moved over a bit, straight onto the splither of wood. " GAHHHHHHHHHHHH", David screamed , the loudest David had every screamed. It was so loud it could be felt for miles. It even stop the carabaros and their captive.the goo evorpated into air ,and David fell on his side. Blood filled David's mouth and he splat it out on the floor, near the bomb shaped like a disic.David's throat was sore and he couldn't talk. David got up tired and grabbed the bomb,it wasn't too late to save Monica.
The last thing Terry, the hamester carabaro wanted was to see that boy named David running behind him wth a bomb under his arm. How in Hect did that boy get out of the Purple nets, did he find its weakness? Apparently hedid jugding by the loud noise. terry now wished he hadn't took the " THe Kidnapping Kid Project" or the Two K's and one B as the "one not to be mentioned said it. It was a stupid idea to brainwash kids to be carabaros.They were more vulnearable to be killed. Terry didn't like children, he thought they cared diseases and where annoying. So he had no problem pulling a gun on David. He turned around with a gun, and David looked surpised and pulled the trigger.
David couldn't believe that the hamaster crabaro had the guts to pull a gun, he looked like a whimp . The bullet missed and hit the wall. David did a triple flip and flipped over the carabaro, when the carabaro turned around, David flung the bomb, which was like a frisbee at the carabaro's head. He fell to the ground, knocked out. David picked up the bomb and ran after the other carabaro, who was escorting Monica out of the door, into a car with another carabaro driving it.David jumped and kicked the carabaro in the chimes in its lower back. The carabaro crumbled a bit and turned around and kicked David in his stomach. David heard Monica scream" David" as he was flung onto the stair steps. david heard someone get into the car and close a door and he saw the door sped off. David collasped to the floor, Monica was gone, he had failed. A tear fell from his cheek to the floor.
David realized there was this a bomb, it could destroy the Santino's house and the others around them.Mr. Santino was unconscious and his wife had gone, possibly to get help. David walked across the sleeping carabaro.The bomb read 5 minutes when David picked it up, He did not have long to dispose of it. David ran up the stairs the fastest he ever runned because it was a matter of life and death. David didn't stop at monica's room and continued up the stairs. David heard a terrible sound ,it wasn't a bullet5 but it seemed like thunder.The hamster Carabaro was not far behind him when he reeled around, and energy crackled from his hands. David was shocked that this carabaro was a magi, common in where David lived, some kept their abilities hidden and while others didn't and showed them off. Mostly they had abilities pertaining to the the tribes of Water, fire , wind, ice and the rare ones, knowledge and lighting. David always suspected his mother and father where ones(his father never used matches on candles).
Anyway David remembered he had a task at hand, and ran up to the last flight of stairs. The carabaro shot at David, but it was no use;David had gone upon the roof.
David automatically got height sick, but straightened himself out, he had a mission at hand. There was barely a minute left when the carabaro came up and shot at David. David on purpose moved his hand that held the bomb into the bolt. David screamed and dropped the bomb, which was now deactivated. David was happy his plan had succeeded, but now how to get rid of this carabaro. David grabbed the bomb and caught the carabaro by flipping over him and hit him in his back(which in turn activated it). David heard a moan and then the carabaro fell to the ground but not without kicking David down the stairs. David tried to grip onto somethings he fell down the stairs even the platform didn't stop him. David's hand and stomach hurt( David tumbled on his belly)and then David heard an explosion and a scream. Finally before David was flipped over once more , he grabbed hold of the railing and collapsed.
Body hurting and out of exhaustion, David fainted.
Chapter 2
David awoke on his bed,could it have been a dream? No, he still had the orange shirt and blue pants on. David blinked in realization. Mr. santino was injuried, Monica had been kidnapped and a carabaro had gotten killed.
"Hello!Mom!DAD!", David said out loud. He could talk again, but not as great as it should have been.David got out of his bed and looked out the window. There was a merchanry cruizer at the Santinos' and David's house.Merchanries were the people who stopped and investigated crime. Then David saw his father shouting at a skinny merchany with a feathered hat. David ran out of his room into the living room where he found his mother packing boxes.Why was she packing boxes? Were they moving?"Mom, are we moving?"David asked. Mrs. Gonalez looked up at David with a concerned look, " you're up ,it probably was a good idea to send you outside".
"but what happened to the Santinos?" asked David.
" Well, they'll be alright, thanks to you, after Mr. Santino is well enough they are moving and so are we",Mrs.Gonalez said.
" What?!" David exclaimed ," why are we moving?"
At that moment David's Father came in," they are evacuating the entire town..." Mr. Gonalez looked tired," we have until tomorrow."
Miles away from The Town of Front, Where David resided, Joshep was geting ready for an escape. He and three others had planned it for weeks. Joshep remembered when they all first met.
" uhh", groaned Joshep as he fell out of his bed at the Redwood Academy Orphanage. Joshep believe as he fell out of the bed, that the orphanage was runned by demons. What orphanage had an annoying bell to wake you up and a stone floor along with instructors that gave deadly punishments. It was all covered up, everyone on the outside thought orphans where treated well, making parents willing to give up there own children. Joshep thought this as he put on a green shirt and black jeans. He saw Marico coming towards him with two other people in tow, one a boy , another a girl. Both looked quiet similiar as if they were twins.
The room he slept in contained 50 orphans, two each on a bunk bed.Marico slept above him and he had awakened early. Marico had a smile on his face," good Morning Joseph, tried of this life yet?"
" yes, I am, don't tell me these guys have a plan that will work", Joseph replied.
" don't be rude, this is Jesse", Marico pointed to a boy with long hair that hung over his eyes."And Maline Gonzalez",Marico pionted to a beautiful girl with long black hair," and they've got a plan". Then he heard the moans of a 1,000 children leave the building handcuffed together in a ridiculous long line. He heard the last ones leave and then there where voices of the remaining Marshalls. " this will be there final miles to the park", sneered a scratchy voice, it was Marshall RedHead. Marshall RedHead was second in command and he was the one that gave out deadly punishments.Once Marico got in trouble with him, but the Marshall would not let him eat anything for 2 weeks. He was lucky for his friends and their food or he would have been dead. There was another voice," the carabaros will take good care of them for us, and give us a million Dodoins for the children. What? The Marshall were going to allow a 1,000 orphans to be sold to the carabaros !This was it , they crossed the line of mean to evil; if they hadn't crossed it already.Joseph heard their snickering and heard their feet walk away.
This was not funny, Joseph thought as he fell out of the dumpster and proceeded to the control room, His friends and brother were doomed. Ever since Joseph was born he could turn invisible and it was not unusual everyone in the community could do it. It used to be peaceful where he lived until the great disaster and all the children where cast down from the sky. Joseph never told his friends he could do this, and with this he should have escaped long ago. Still he had a responsibility to escape with his friends.
Joseph turned invisible and disappeared into shadow. He proceeded down a red brick hall, which sunshine came from square incidentions in the ceiling. Along the way, he saw Marshalls laughing and giggling. How cruel could these demons get?
Joseph came to stairs leading down a dark passage way, he waited until a Marshall wearing gear went down. Joseph went down the stairs, making sure not to make any noise. As soon as the Marshall reached a green glowing door, He pulled out a card and placed it in a slot, the door automatically opened. the Marshall went threw and Joseph followed. The room was dark, but there were outlines of glowing green equipment. The Marshall who had brown hair and wore a gray and red uniform, flipped on the lights to reveal a room full of tech and rooms going up layers and layers. The Marshall was alone , you could hear an insect move. This was Joseph's chance, so he picked up a glowing instrument and flung it. It hit the Marshall on his head and his knees crumbled and fell to the ground.Joseph checked his pulse, he was still living, Joseph grabbed the Marshall's gun and key card and ran to a computer.
Hacking was easy, he just put the key in the slot in the computer and he was in. First he connected a black box to the computer, and disabled the security systems with the virus that was held in the black cube.Next he spread the virus into the tracking system and all of the academy's functions.He disconnected the cube and was done, it was so easy." good job,Joseph", said a voice behind him. David walked across the sleeping carabaro.The bomb read 5 minutes when David picked it up, He did not have long to dispose of it. David ran up the stairs the fastest he ever runned because it was a matter of life and death. David didn't stop at monica's room and continued up the stairs. David heard a terrible sound ,it wasn't a bullet5 but it seemed like thunder.The hamster Carabaro was not far behind him when he reeled around, and energy crackled from his hands. David was shocked that this carabaro was a magi, common in where David lived, some kept their abilities hidden and while others didn't and showed them off. Mostly they had abilities pertaining to the the tribes of Water, fire , wind, ice and the rare ones, knowledge and lighting. David always suspected his mother and father where ones(his father never used matches on candles).
Anyway David remembered he had a task at hand, and ran up to the last flight of stairs. The carabaro shot at David, but it was no use;David had gone upon the roof.
David automatically got height sick, but straightened himself out, he had a mission at hand. There was barely a minute left when the carabaro came up and shot at David. David on purpose moved his hand that held the bomb into the bolt. David screamed and dropped the bomb, which was now deactivated. David was happy his plan had succeeded, but now how to get rid of this carabaro. David grabbed the bomb and caught the carabaro by flipping over him and hit him in his back(which in turn activated it). David heard a moan and then the carabaro fell to the ground but not without kicking David down the stairs. David tried to grip onto somethings he fell down the stairs even the platform didn't stop him. David's hand and stomach hurt( David tumbled on his belly)and then David heard an explosion and a scream. Finally before David was flipped over once more , he grabbed hold of the railing and collapsed.
Body hurting and out of exhaustion, David fainted.
Chapter 2
David awoke on his bed,could it have been a dream? No, he still had the orange shirt and blue pants on. David blinked in realization. Mr. santino was injuried, Monica had been kidnapped and a carabaro had gotten killed.
"Hello!Mom!DAD!", David said out loud. He could talk again, but not as great as it should have been.David got out of his bed and looked out the window. There was a merchanry cruizer at the Santinos' and David's house.Merchanries were the people who stopped and investigated crime. Then David saw his father shouting at a skinny merchany with a feathered hat. David ran out of his room into the living room where he found his mother packing boxes.Why was she packing boxes? Were they moving?"Mom, are we moving?"David asked. Mrs. Gonalez looked up at David with a concerned look, " you're up ,it probably was a good idea to send you outside".
"but what happened to the Santinos?" asked David.
" Well, they'll be alright, thanks to you, after Mr. Santino is well enough they are moving and so are we",Mrs.Gonalez said.
" What?!" David exclaimed ," why are we moving?"
At that moment David's Father came in," they are evacuating the entire town..." Mr. Gonalez looked tired," we have until tomorrow."
Miles away from The Town of Front, Where David resided, Joshep was geting ready for an escape. He and three others had planned it for weeks. Joshep remembered when they all first met.
" uhh", groaned Joshep as he fell out of his bed at the Redwood Academy Orphanage. Joshep believe as he fell out of the bed, that the orphanage was runned by demons. What orphanage had an annoying bell to wake you up and a stone floor along with instructors that gave deadly punishments. It was all covered up, everyone on the outside thought orphans where treated well, making parents willing to give up there own children. Joshep thought this as he put on a green shirt and black jeans. He saw Marico coming towards him with two other people in tow, one a boy , another a girl. Both looked quiet similiar as if they were twins.
The room he slept in contained 50 orphans, two each on a bunk bed.Marico slept above him and he had awakened early. Marico had a smile on his face," good Morning Joseph, tried of this life yet?"
" yes, I am, don't tell me these guys have a plan that will work", Joseph replied.
" don't be rude, this is Jesse", Marico pointed to a boy with long hair that hung over his eyes."And Maline Gonzalez",Marico pionted to a beautiful girl with long black hair," and they've got a plan". That was how it started and for weeks, Joseph,Marico,Maline and Jesse planned to escape this hell hole and today was the very day.
Joseph was supposed to sneak into the orphanage's control room and hack their security, While the others were walking for 5 miles. While the others would escape out of the line and sneak into an abandoned building, and grab the supplies hidden in there.Joseph had to skip what ever horrible breakfast they were serving, and now he was inside of an empty dumpster waiting for the orphans to leave. Then he heard the moans of a 1,000 children leave the building handcuffed together in a ridiculous long line. He heard the last ones leave and then there where voices of the remaining Marshalls. " this will be there final miles to the park", sneered a scratchy voice, it was Marshall RedHead. Marshall RedHead was second in command and he was the one that gave out deadly punishments.Once Marico got in trouble with him, but the Marshall would not let him eat anything for 2 weeks. He was lucky for his friends and their food or he would have been dead. There was another voice," the carabaros will take good care of them for us, and give us a million Dodoins for the children. What? The Marshall were going to allow a 1,000 orphans to be sold to the carabaros !This was it , they crossed the line of mean to evil; if they hadn't crossed it already.Joseph heard their snickering and heard their feet walk away.
This was not funny, Joseph thought as he fell out of the dumpster and proceeded to the control room, His friends and brother were doomed. Ever since Joseph was born he could turn invisible and it was not unusual everyone in the community could do it. It used to be peaceful where he lived until the great disaster and all the children where cast down from the sky. Joseph never told his friends he could do this, and with this he should have escaped long ago. Still he had a responsibility to escape with his friends.
Joseph turned invisible and disappeared into shadow. He proceeded down a red brick hall, which sunshine came from square incidentions in the ceiling. Along the way, he saw Marshalls laughing and giggling. How cruel could these demons get?
Joseph came to stairs leading down a dark passage way, he waited until a Marshall wearing gear went down. Joseph went down the stairs, making sure not to make any noise. As soon as the Marshall reached a green glowing door, He pulled out a card and placed it in a slot, the door automatically opened. the Marshall went threw and Joseph followed. The room was dark, but there were outlines of glowing green equipment. The Marshall who had brown hair and wore a gray and red uniform, flipped on the lights to reveal a room full of tech and rooms going up layers and layers. The Marshall was alone , you could hear an insect move. This was Joseph's chance, so he picked up a glowing instrument and flung it. It hit the Marshall on his head and his knees crumbled and fell to the ground.Joseph checked his pulse, he was still living, Joseph grabbed the Marshall's gun and key card and ran to a computer.
Hacking was easy, he just put the key in the slot in the computer and he was in. First he connected a black box to the computer, and disabled the security systems with the virus that was held in the black cube.Next he spread the virus into the tracking system and all of the academy's functions.He disconnected the cube and was done, it was so easy." good job,Joseph", said a voice behind him. It was Marshall Redhead flanked by six large spiders.
