My fear is that you will not understand what I'm about to say but people-you need to define yourself-not just let events, people,social contraptions and theories and things control you-or have influence on you and define you to the point you stop reaching for the person you are. You cannot stop reaching for who you are just because of these blockers to who you are. You cannot stop reaching for who you are just because of the blockers in your way, the ones I listed underlined above. You just can ' t stop reaching for who you are because this is your life and what you are-characteristically determines what you will accomplish.
