The Bravest Woman in Mexico.

Twenty-One year old Marisol Valles has been fired from her job when she didn't show up at work this morning.
She was the police chief of the violent town in Mexico called Praxedis G. Guerrero. She is reportedly seeking an asylum in the United States after receiving death threats from drug cartels. Though she may have difficulty making an asylum case, since U.S immigration officials  are most likely to such requests if the person has political threats to their life and well being. Valles was held the bravest woman in Mexico for agreeing to lead the police force when no one applied in October. Despite the fact that other city officials have been beheaded by local drug gangs. Her goals where to focus on administrative tasks and community building, but not deal with the drug dealers.Regardless, she reportedly became the target of an intimidation campaign. Mexican papers on Friday said that Valles fled the country seeking an asylum. City officials also released a statement claiming that Valles was in the United States to get her young son medical attention saying she would be back this morning. When she didn't they fired her. Chihuahua state human rights official,Gustavo de la Rosa Hickerson told El Pais that Valles received death threats over the phone before fleeing.According to him a governmental official went with her to the international bridge that crosses into Fort Hancock, Texas, and that she planned to seek asylum.
Response:
This woman is a brave person and fled for her own life knowing what happened to several other officials. It seems to me that she is a bold person who backed down, when her life was in danger. Her only hope of escape is to plead for asylum knowing she would not get threw any other way. This would be a good thing. The other possibility is that she did not even make it to  The United States that she was killed. The happy ending her would be that her son was still sick and she will return later.
